Day 1-Addis Ababa City tour
Flight from your country to Bole International airport, meet our representative and transfer to a hotel. After some rest we will have Addis Ababa city tour National Museum also called the Archeological museum that houses interesting archeological features which includes “Lucy,” the 3.2-million-year-old hominid skeleton considered the missing link in the evolutionary study of mankind. Proceed to the Ethnographic museum, which displays a very large collection of Ethiopian crafts and items of historical interest. Overnight hotel.
Day 2-Addis to Arbaminch
Morning around 7:30 we start driving to south west of Addis Ababa via Hosanna, one of the most evergreen and fertile land of Ethiopia, over viewing the Oromo and the Gurage, Hadiya, Silte tribes way of life with their thatched roof circular house surrounded by enset “ false banana” trees. The landscape is very beautiful and overlooks lake Abaya and lake Chamo, one of the fertile and evergreen places in the country. Overnight in hotel
Day 3-Drive to Jinka
Early morning breakfast and drive to lake Chamo for an early morning boat excursion to see the Crocodile Market and the Hippos. (Here crocodiles are some of the longest in Africa With length of 8 and also above metres.) Then drive to Jinka and on the way visit the Konso, Tsemay and Ari tribes. Cross the Weito Dessert which is the home of the Tsemay tribes, Overnight Eco Omo resort.
Day 4- Visit Mursi and drive to Turmi
Enter Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people and their villages. Here for beauty women insert round clay plates in their lips. The men practise scarification based on the number of enemies or wild animals they have killed in battle. Back to Jinka for Lunch and drive to Turmi. If today is Tuesday, visit one of the best markets at Dimeka and see if there is any bull jumping ceremony if you are lucky. Overnight Lodge.
Day 5- Visit the Karo and Dassenech tribes
This morning We’re going to Murulle to meet with the tribe Karo, whose members are known for their adorn bodies with the various patterns and scars. Afternoon we will rise early and drive to the edge of the Omo River. We will cross the river by canoe to the villages of the Dasanech tribes (a motor boat or a ferry may be available but is not guaranteed). The Dassanech are a semi-nomadic tribe numbering approximately 50,000. Their clans stretch across Sudan, Kenya and Southern Ethiopia. They are known for their very unique and ornate hair buns. Overnight Lodge.
Day 6- Visit Benna, Aria and Konso
In the morning drive through the villages of Ari, Benna and Tsemay. Then in the afternoon visit the Konso village which is one of the world heritage sites of UNESCO. Enjoy Konso – Garages, near the village lies a giant cleft, within which many rock formations resemble the outline of their forms in New York. Overnight lodge.
Day 7- Visit Chencha and drive to Langano
Today we drive to the mountain up to visit the Dorze are Well known cotton weavers, the Dorze tribe were once warriors. They are famous for their cotton woven cloths and beehive huts. Admire the wonderful view of Lake Abaya and Chamo. Further drive to Langano through the great rift valley. Overnight hotel.
Day 8- Drive to Addis
Today we drive back to Addis through the great Rift valley with a stopover in Lake Ziway. Visit the Oromo people and their villages. Further drive to Addis souvenir shopping, we are waiting for dinner at one of the most famous restaurants of Ethiopia. You will see the dances of various peoples of Ethiopia, transfer to the airport, it will be the end of the trip.
